A New Country Is Born Today But What's Its Lifespan?

I know many countries have been born during my six plus decades of life, but now it seems that we can follow the event from conception to delivery -- through mass and social media. And some of us will be around to see its death. I'm not saying South Sudan is doomed to failure. But one just wonders why countries come about -- this one by division based primarily on demographics that have to do with religion. I'm not an expert but I'm just asking us to remember this new country as it faces the world and its neighbors.

As mergers and acquisitions are amalgamations are usually good things for corporations and divestments and selloffs are more ominous, so it is with countries. South Sudan is divestment from Sudan. We wish it well. Take a look. . .
