More Proof of B.O. Hypocrisy and Not Playing Even By His Own Rules

As if we needed more evidence that this president is does not play by the rules, even his own rules, we now have this:

When a President Snubs Cap. Hill, It's Time for him to go.

He's quick to tell Congress to give up their vacation, but he's loath to go meet with the key players.  This president (for lack of a better word) is losing it.

Joseph Sends His Steward After the Brothers -- Genesis 44:4-5

They had just gone out of the city, and were not far off, when Joseph said to his house steward, “Up, follow the men and when you overtake them, say to them, ‘Why have you repaid evil for good?  Is not this the one from which my lord drinks, and which he indeed uses for divination?  You have done wrong in doing this.’”

Here we see Joseph exhibiting one of the most important traits of a good leader – namely, timely follow-up.  Not long after his brothers had been sent away with their money in their sacks as well as Joseph’s special drinking cup in Benjamin’s sack, he ordered his house steward to overtake them and gave him explicit instructions as to what the steward was to say to them.  Giving clear direction is more evidence of good leadership.

But that’s where the suggested action for ‘good leaders’ in this story should stop being copied.  Joseph now turns to instructing his servant to make a false accusation, or at a minimum to pretend that there must be some misunderstanding.  Notice his very words.  He jumps from having the man ask, “Why have you given back evil (by stealing) in exchange for the good you received and the kindness you experienced at our Master’s hands?” to a statement concerning his “personal cup” and its use.  No spoken word regarding the assumption that it was stolen.  There’s a grammatical gap there that seems strange.  There is also no direction to the servant to search their sacks and to find the cup and the money that Joseph’s servants had placed in them.  It is possible this slight lapse in instructions was an indication that Joseph himself was not at ease with his own approach.  Perhaps he knew he was not being honest in his methodology.  The spirit of God has a way of informing us of such wavering from the truth or from doing the right thing through our conscious.

We should note the reference to Joseph’s cup being used for “divination” purposes.  Not only was this Joseph’s drinking cup, but also it was a prized possession in the sense that it was used to receive oracles or pictures of coming events in a way akin to the reading of cups some so-called seers engage in today.  First water was poured in the cup.  Then fragments of gold, silver or precious stones were dropped in.  The cup was shaken and a picture or pattern was formed, which was then interpreted.  The practice was known as ‘hydromancy’ or the equivalent of modern-day cup-reading.  The word itself stems from "hydro", meaning water, and "manteia", meaning divination.  This is divination by means of water that includes examination and subsequent interpretation of the color, ebb and flow, or ripples produced by the pebbles or metals dropped in the water-filled vessel (cup or pool) to predict the future.

One could well ask what Joseph was actually doing being involved in hydromancy.  Or we could ask “was Joseph actually involved in hydromancy or was he just telling his servant to say that” since he knew his brothers would be well aware of the prevalent use of magic and hydromancy in Egypt?  It is possible the latter was indeed the case, that is, it is unlikely that Joseph, a devout believer in the true God, would have involved himself with such a practice.  Those that believe Joseph may have used divination rely on the fact that sorcery had not yet been spoken against by God.  Either way, Joseph was being deceitful.

And yet, it is he that wants his brothers to be told “you have done wrong”.  Isn’t this how life often works.  We are so quick to judge others when we ourselves have failed to examine our own methods and see if they cut the mustard on being honorable and Godly.  Perhaps that is the lesson for us from this section of scripture.  That and the fact that even good men falter at times.

B.O. Uses Clinton to announce U.S. new "relationship" with Muslim Brotherhood.

Here is evidence of the world's most experience double-speak administration.  Caught with their pants down again, they are now trying to explain this new illicit affair with the Muslim Brotherhood, seeing the Brotherhood as a non-violence organization.  What weasel words!  What weasels!  B.O. is leading his team by the ears (or should I say the nose) and they're leading the U.S. and the world down a big pit.  How far will these guys go with this kind of  nonsense?  Take a look at the link.

Bad News, Your "Diet" Soda Is Making You Fat Too

I've tried to warn my family and friends.  Diet drinks are the biggest joke "on dieters".  Take a look at this research from the Diabetes people.  If diet drink advertising is not dishonest-advertising, I don't know what is.   We're sharing because we care about the 'shape' you're in.

Why No Christian Should Support A & F

I've spoken against Abercrombie & Fitch before but now others are joining -- perhaps because the company is in hot water over firing an employee for wearing her Muslim head covering. Take a look at this link below and decide for yourself.

My particular pet peeve is going to a church service where one of the band members is wearing an Abercrombie and Fitch (in big letters) tee shirt. That should never be. This may be a result of either a very slack dress code or a worship and/or senior pastor that doesn't know what's going on in the world, even if they do lead a big church. You want to know how the "enemy" gets into the church -- in this case it's on the advertising (for that's all it is) on someone's shirt.

3 Big Christian Bodies Reach Agreement in Evangelism Ethics

This is big news for those that believe in witnessing.  While you may only support one of the three big groups that make up the three parties who have agreed to this historic document, you will have to agree they make some pretty good points of "how then we shall witness" in today's very complex and multi-religious world.  It's well worth the read.   Most, if not all, of it is based on Jesus' teachings.

In Egypt: Oust A Bad Leader, Get A Regime that Hates Jews and Christians.

I don't really want to comment much on this as there are no words that can explain how the West has failed non-Islamic minorities in the countries that have experienced the Arab Spring.  I am sure there was a way for Mr. B.O. and his allies to have accomplished their desire to help the rebels without such help crippling and ultimately annihilating the minorities in those countries.

If they supported the rebels, because they believed in democracy, they need to ensure that what replaces the old rulers is not a regime that is totally intolerant of peace-loving minorities.

Take a look at the attached article through the link below and judge for yourself.  I'd appreciate your views.

Where I Believe Jews Are Going Wrong . . .

I am a friend of Israel's. I also believe that Jews were God's chosen people and that they still have a very special place in His heart, and perhaps most likely, in His plans.

But as I read this well-written opinion in the attached link, I start to wonder if what the author believes in and calls for won't take Israel down a very wrong path.  I wonder whether it will officially be the beginning of some undesirable experience again for the Jewish people.  God has warned those that abandon and turn their back on the Jewish people.  But what happens when the majority of Jews abandon God?  What happens to them?

Well, the good news is that I can't and won't try to speak for the Almighty or to even try to guess how He will react.  The bad news is that He will react just as He has throughout history when God-fearing countries start to disregard Him and turn against Him.  And I believe, based on His track record, the impact of His reaction will not be too pleasant for the world to deal with.

But read the attached article via the link below and make up your own mind.  I'd appreciate your views.

Should You Be Able To Record Police Actions That Occur in Public?

Let me start by saying this is a difficult story to post. I wasn't there so I can't say what really happened. But here's what I do know:

First, the story came to my attention through the website of Aljazeera media. This is what they're saying over yonder (what many of us refer to as the 'other side') about us and our policing in North America. It's not good.

Second, I note, if the article is correct, that a number of U.S. states prohibit the recording of police activity period. I simply ask, "Why?"

I am a big supporter of the police and I believe their job is very very difficult. Thank God for them or we'd turn into a Somalia very soon. But that does not mean we shouldn't do all we can to reward good cops, and try to change the behavior of bad cops.

I was speaking to a policeman recently and he told me that just as I have a right to remain silent about what I see my neighbors or my relatives do, they have a right to stay silent about what their "colleagues" do. Fair enough. Those are rights we all have. But if they can do that, who then is left that through recording evidence can accuse any bad behavior? No one. Shouldn't there be someone? If not, then we are inviting a police state. Your thoughts -- from civilians and police officers -- are welcomed. I'm open to learning more.

Here's what the various sides are saying on this big event coming up. You can't watch the event without a program. This is as close we can get to a real 'advance program'.

Most people are seeing this as being less volatile then the last similar event, but I'm not too sure. You decide for yourself. Take a look.

American Rabbi on "Radical Islam" and the Responsibility of Other Muslims

A friend sent me this. It is well worth the read but alas, I am afraid that most readers are already "in the choir" and he would be preaching just to us. But, it is comforting to know that others are thinking like us. Now if only we can get ourselves together to convince our governments.

My gut feel says that one way we can do this is to keep on moving the conservative agenda forward with newly elected conservative leaning governments all over the world.   However, we need to return to the God who created us and seek His help and carry out His wishes.

Take a look at what the Rabbi says.

One Cell Fails With a 9-year old; Another Uses an 8-year old and Succeeds. Horror.

I learned of this news just minutes after I had the privilege of watching my 8-year old granddaughter and her friends enjoy a Hawaiian theme birthday party out in the backyard.  The very thought of anyone using a mere child to tie a bomb to, and to blow other people up including her, makes my gut reel.  If this is done in the name of religion, then where is the outrage against that religion.

Can you imagine what would happen if Christians tried something like this.  All hell would literally break loose.  In fact, in North America it would be totally illegal (so far).

We need to get out of our comfort zone.  Pastors I'm not sure how you can stay silent and have your church sing "Jesus loves the little children of the world" and then totally ignore what is going on.  It's time to risk our privilege in giving charitable donation receipts for the sake of Christ and the children.  Stay silent and a few decades from now it may be your children being used like this in your own country.

There's no doubt since one terrorist cell had failed with this approach using a 9-year old girl last week in Pakistan, and now it was tried by Afghan jihadists, it will certainly make it's way into the standard playbook for terrorism and jihadists' actions.  Yet, we stay stunned and silent.  I can understand stunned, but I can't understand silent.

Can we at least hear some "Amens!" in the comments after you check this out?

"I Don't Hate Anyone" -- This man did the Research and then took the words right out of my mouth.

Kelly Boggs writes one of the most definitive articles representing the Christian perspective of the homosexuality issue that I have ever read. You owe it to yourself to read it and know about it. Grap the data that's in there and use it. Then pass it on to your friends, relatives, and those that are giving you a hard time about it. Then share your thoughts with us here.

He correctly points out that it's not about people, it's about behavior, it's about what we believe to be sin.  Let me add that we're tired of having the gay agenda pushed down our throats (sorry about that) in a way that tries to make us somehow feel inhuman, unchristian, and crazy if we don't embrace it.  Boggs shares official numbers of gays in the population -- so different from what the media would have you think because the attention they get is fifty times more than they deserve based on numbers and way out of proportion.  Just trying listening to CNN or the CBC one 24-hour day and not have to hear about a gay issue.  You'll die waiting for such a day.  And maybe of course, that's exactly their goal.

Clarification on the Delta Airlines Discrimination Story

This is an interesting account. The story is more complex than either side is willing to make it. The bottom line is this. Saudi Arabia will not accept passengers with an Israeli passport because it does not recognize Israel as a legitimate state that can issue passports. (Remember, there's a middle east "ideological" war going on now for decades; no, make that centuries.)

The problem arises when your relative from Tel Aviv visits you in New York on his/her passport and the two of you want to fly to Saudi Arabia. Your relative can't join you because no airline can put a person on board to a destination where that individual does not have acceptable documentation at that destination.

So when an airline carries that internationally imposed flying requirement out, are they being "discriminatory"? Yes, but it does not matter because the issue is not with the airline, it's really an issue of the receiving country's discrimination.

However, the airline does not get off scot-free either. Not if they've joined an alliance where one member of the group (in this case one or more airlines) actually fly to Saudi Arabia -- a country that is discriminatory; or includes a Saudi Arabian airline itself. The airlines have an option not to fly there (of course, it's about the economy silly) or not join the alliance.

Check it out for yourself. The real story is that this is even going on in the world. Maybe we should stop accepting anyone with a Saudi passport? Just thinking.

Greece: Mixed . . . and Very Serious . . . Messages . . .

Yes, George Papandreou's re-shuffled government received a vote of confidence in the Greek Parliament gaining 155 out of 300 votes.  Nothing to write to the New York Times about.  But still, it works for now.  Next Wednesday comes the big vote in the Parliament about the very austerity measures themselves.

There is still controversy (and I haven't been able to determine for sure) on the issue of whether the Greek members of Parliament have actually taken a personal financial hit themselves to lead the way.  So far, the overwhelming informal poll of people and internet sites I've checked with seems to indicate, "no, they have not".  As long as this continues, you can force people to follow the laws, but they'll continue to work to defeat the system you have set up.  (If you know of contrary evidence, please share it with us here.)

Anyway, yesterday's vote is a small move in the right direction for Greece to get its next bailout and keep it from defaulting.  Still, one just doesn't know if a) that will ever happen and b) how long it will last if it does.

Meanwhile, as you will see from the link to today's blog, some of the "smart money" and the experts are basically saying, "no way, Greece is bound to default"  and others will join them.  Those are strong predictions from some influential people.

The good news is that the same people are also saying it won't be the end of civilization as we know it if Greece defaults.  But they haven't said that won't be the case if some other countries in Europe (which they haven't named) also follow Greece's suit and default themselves.  Anyway, while Greece's impact may be minimal, we need to keep in mind the "elephant in the room" that just may cause a bigger stir if it defaults soon and that's the United States.  But hey, we have a few more weeks before that scenario is finalized by either congress lifting the debt ceiling or not.  Yes, they're working on the nitty-gritty right now and very little room for politics is left.

Keep on watching.   For those that are Christians, it's all interesting but not alarming.  Just keep on trucking in the course you've been led to follow as you read scripture and utilizing the knowledge, skills, passions, and values that God has instilled in your heart.  That's the safest non-financial advice I can give you or anyone else, including myself.

LIes by Russia or Cover-Up by the U.S.? Either way, we lose.

With Senior American administrators recently saying it's a common thing for nations to lie to each other, certainly we can expect nations to lie to us. So who is the liar here? Is it Russia or is it the U.S.? If it's Russia, why did the U.S. impose a "no-fly" zone over the Nebraskan Nuclear Center? Read it all for yourself. Either way you cut this story, it bleeds of deception -- lies, counter-lies, and attempts to keep us all in the dark (no pun intended) on nuclear power risks.

Why the Court's Decision For WalMart is Correct

During my career in Human Resources, I had the privilege of being the first Director of Policy and Research for the Pay Equity Commission of Ontario. We did all we could to eliminate discrimination against women when it came to work of equal value (never mind identical work). So you would think I would be against today's decision on the WalMart case. Yet, based on the principles of pay equity and how the necessary remedies are to be identified and implemented, I must tell you the court's decision is correct.

Clearly the decision is not saying the women were not discriminated against. It simply says when you group 1.5 million women together -- from different stores, under different managers, in different states, and most importantly in different jobs -- there is no possible way to determine whether zero, one, a hundred, a thousand, a million, or all of them were discriminated against in accordance with any required legislation, and especially to what extent. That being said, each one is free to file their own lawsuit. (Although, due to costs -- that ain't likely to happen.)

But here's the point. This type of lawsuit would have to result in individual remedies on each and every person involved in the suit given the laws that were reportedly violated. It would literally take decades if not a century to accomplish that in the current legal system. This case is very different than the one that says Bank X systemically broke the law with respect to their customers and thus all those in the law suit are entitled to an award equivalent to Y% of their savings of record on such and such a date. That's doable and fair. That cannot be done in a Pay Equity type of case. All women may have been discriminated against but not in the same way, or to the same extent. Therefore, you cannot apply a single ruling on all. For all of the above, I agree with today's decision.

Here's another account of it . . . and p.s. Walmart did not win a sex-bias case. They won a court-related procedural case.   Also most North Ameican reports speak of 1.5 million women, not 1.0 million.

NBC dumps 'under God' from Pledge at U.S. Open

This response by NBC to omitting "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is as a close to a blatant lie as I'll ever see or hear. This is ridiculous. They just cause the problem, then half-apologize with a response that looks like anything but the truth -- and with no shame at all. In fact, the apology gets the issue more publicity for what is really all behind this. Take a look. . . .

Foolish Is the Man Who Rejects HIs Top Counsels

If this does not scare you about B.O., I don't know what will.  What is the point of having high-paid legal counsel on your staff, if you are going to ignore them?   What other advice has he or will he ignore?  Will the next time be even more disastrous for the U.S. and the rest of the world?

Yes, it's within his right to ignore them -- but it's very very rare.  Take a look at this link.

Understanding The Jewish Vote In America

This is a top-notch video analysis of the topic. I'd be worried if I were the presidential incumbent in 2012 -- unless of course, B.O. thinks that if Jews flee from the Democrats as is likely to happen, there is enough anti-Semitic feeling in the U.S., that their leaving will actually help his chances. Watch this video and decide for yourself and know the various scenarios that can make a big difference in November 2012, and why.

An "elite" Greek Explains Why Greece Can't Fix Itself

A most interesting perspective and one that may not be too far off.  Take a look.  Having been born in Greece, this is very hard for me to hear and even harder to share.  But us someone who just came back from Greece, I have to admit it's pretty near the equivalent of the gospel truth.  Most Greeks I talked to last month had no ability to point a finger their own way.  (Yes, some did, but they're in the minority as most wise/honest/realistic men and women usually are.)

Ever Wonder Why So Many Atheists Concerned About "Religious Issues"?

I have often thought about the topic covered by the recommended link today.  Finally found someone who has written about it well.   So why are atheists by far the most fervent commentators on matters religious?   Why do some atheists actually encourage their supporters to 'blog like crazy against anything that smacks of religion'?

The author suggests that atheists have lately "come out of the closet".   They want to proselytize all the rest of us to their way of thinking.  It is not enough to simply let them be atheists, but we have to support them and agree with them.  (Sounds like some other group I know.)

They use their traditional arguing points well while many theists don't even know the arguing points of the great apologists on their side, so they get intimidated.   Robert Barron has some great insights into this whole area.

Israel Just Upped the Ante in the Middle East

According to Haaretz this morning, if the Palestinians go to the U.N. in September to seek unilateral recognition, then all accords and agreements including the Oslo accord will be nullified, says Israel.  Furthermore, there is no chance whatsoever of any peace talks if that happens.  And even right now, the chances of further talks are slim.  Take a look. . .

Thanks B.O. for the 'small change'.

Those of you who have been following my writing know that I am not a fan of B.O. in the White House. So normally the messages I bring across to you come from his conservative or Republican critics, or my very own thoughts. So, it is with great pleasure I bring you a message about how B.O. has failed the country as perceived by some of his own supporters who also tell it like it is.

This topic of rewarding your big contributors is a serious problem in politics today and we would have expected B.O. to do as he has been doing. That's not the issue. The issue is that he said this kind of rewarding of friends and supporters would stop with him. It has not. And in fact, it has gotten worse -- openly and blatantly.

Just another thing to tuck away in your memory for November 2012.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II Tells It Like It Is.

Okay, so the U.S. and others won't listen to the Joel Rosenberg's of this world, but do you think they'll finally get it when the King of Jordan tells it like it is about the Middle East conflict?

I hope so, but I'm not betting my last gallon of gasoline on it.

Oh My, Surprising (?) News Abt. Sex & Divorce . . .

Wow. And this is not even coming from the Church or the "fanatical right-wing evangelicals". Wait, it's from the University of Iowa research. Take a look.

Of course, they try to explain the link between the two a little differently than I would, but the real point can't be missed by many of us -- the connection is there because God's plan for us wasn't programmed like that. Here's the link, thanks to Newswise.

The Gutless U.S. & U.K. Will support their cause, but not "recognize" Libyan Rebels

How 'wishy-washy' can you get? The U.K. and Obamaland is absent from the list of countries that have formally recognized Libya's rebels. Why? It's okay to shoot at the rebels' enemy, but not to recognize those you are fighting for.   Is there any wonder with these two heavily involved in this half-hearted way that it is taking so long to get Gadhafi?

But then again, B.O. has not received the required formal Congress authority to go into Libya, so maybe he's just covering his "derriere". Oh, if he could only see what a hypocrite he is. Oh well, let's hope the people see it in 2012.

Take a look at who has recognized the rebels.

This is What Good Govt. Does. Strikes Have Outlived Their Usefulness.

Congratulations to the new "majority" government in Canada that wastes no time signaling its intention in a strike that impacts 100's of 1000's of Canadians, not to mention the economy.

There's never an issue that a mediated solution or final-offer selection arbitration can't solve. In my opinion, strikes have outlived their usefulness when it comes to public or government or national services.

Help Me Out. Am I reading about the U.S. or Greece? Two Arguments sound the same.

This has got to be funny. Here's B.O. warning of a 2nd financial crisis unless the U.S. goes into a higher debt. Wow. And he's worried about the rest of the world. He's not caring about the future of Americans and their children and grand-children. Of course, all of his will be well taken care of.

This is ludicrous arguing. At some point there will be financial "pain" or there will be cultural "death". I'm for the pain and now. I just can't believe how these guys can lie with such a straight face.

Joseph’s Trap Is Set -- Genesis 44:1-3

Then he commanded his house steward, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack.  And put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and his money for the grain.”  And he did as Joseph had told him.  As soon as it was light, the men were sent away, they with their donkeys.

From the end of the previous chapter, we know that by the time the meal Joseph had hosted for his visitors in his house was over, he knew the men much better.  He had likely determined that they indeed had changed their ways from the days that they had sold him to a band of traveling merchants to be a slave in Egypt.  But Joseph had one more final test for his brothers, a test that was calculated to give a clear picture of their inner hearts.

It is most likely that the instructions to the house steward as recorded here were given in private while the guests ate or soon thereafter.  We also noted that they were to get “as much as they could carry” versus perhaps what would be the standard amount for what their money would have purchased.

But the significant difference from the normal transactions is that Joseph wanted his servant to put his very own silver cup in the mouth of Benjamin’s sack.  Getting their money back was one thing, but getting the ruler’s drinking cup was another.  Assuming of course that they were given these.  What if it was believed they stole them?

If we read the last sentence of Chapter 43 “So they feasted and drank freely with him” followed immediately by the last sentence of Chapter 44, verse 3, “As soon as it was light, the men were sent away, they with their donkeys,” it is possible to believe that the feast with Joseph went on all night, with very little sleep having taken place.  But as soon as the morning came, they were indeed ushered on their way, along with their animals packed with their sacks and what Joseph had his servants include.  Joseph was anxious to implement the rest of his plan for his brothers and his father – perhaps a plan that God had put in his heart for their own good and as part of the fulfillment of His own “divine plan”.

Is there a message here for us?  Yes.  As we live our lives each day, we should be aware that God is ultimately in control.  Men today may certainly be planning just “one more test for us”, but as God’s children, we can be comforted by the fact that He allows that test and it just may well be part of His divine plan.  In addition, we are privileged to have a small part in that very plan of God’s.  Whatever challenge or trial you are going through today, know that God is there also and if He’s not behind it, He certainly has allowed it and He is able to use it for His glory.

Conrad Black on B.O. -- Need I Say Anything More?

In a very well-written article on Europe published in the July 18, 2011 edition of Canadian Business magazine, Conrad Black gives the following description of B.O., in the context of why Europe can't rely on America any more. . . .

"Finally, freakishly, there is an American president who does not want to lead the world, and doesn't want to do anything n the world except get out of Afghanistan and Iraq on an acceptable basis, doesn't care a fig for the western alliance, and doesn't think American strength or leadership is a good thing.  He has gone about bowing obsequiously to foreign figureheads and apologizes for some of America's greatest and most internationally respected leaders, including Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, and Dwight D. Eisenhower."

If that's the leadership Americans are looking for, then they can vote for B.O. in 2012 and have four more years of it.  But end the end of the day, America will not be anywhere close to its potential or to its past level of prestige in the world.  One can be respected without being a doormat.  In fact, doormats are never respected.  With well-known personalities like Black having these assessments of the American president, do we really expect the likes of Ahmadinejad or the P.A. or Gaddafi or the Egyptians or anyone else to take him and America seriously?  I don't think so.  Even his own people and many in his own party don't take him seriously.

Okay, I did say more.  I'm sorry.  But someone has to say "Conrad Black is right on this time!"

Ball Slyly Thrust Into Israel's Court

And why do I think this all stinks -- because an official spokesperson for the National Security Council said he can't comment because what Simon said was off the record. Well, at least Wikileaks folks won't get nailed for this one. But isn't it interesting how officials can leak and then claim 'no comment' but when the public succeeds in finding out the truth, all hell breaks loose?

I don't know about you, but from my perspective, reading between the lines tells me that the current U.S. administration is progressively becoming less trustworthy on any matter. But hey, you decide for yourself. Here's the link to the article.

Why No One May Be "Touching" Syria These Days

According to the article in the link below, Syria may be safe from the action of the U.S. and others because of Israel and Iran. There is fear that Syria's ruler could take his vengeance out on Israel, a country with which Syria shares a border (Libya does not share a border with Israel). Also, with Iran's strength and potential nuclear capabilities growing, and its ally relationship with Syria, no one is willing to take a chance on ticking Iran off at this point.

In my opinion, those are two reasons as to why exactly some action to eliminate Assad should be taken sooner rather than later. In fact, every one is in agreement that his days, like Gaddafi's, are numbered given that he has already killed 1,500 of his own people.  So, why give Assad more time to think about how he will attack Israel?  Why give Iran more time to get all their nuclear arms arsenal in place when they will wield even more clout and fear?

Read the article and see if you can come up with more of the thinking of the West, between the lines.

Al Qaeda says Jihad must be fought in U.S., individually, & with bought guns.

Did you think that the death of Osama bin Laden was a victory for the West and especially, the U.S.?  IF SO, this analysis of Al Qaeda's latest video may convince you otherwise.  The detailed observations are crucial to our understanding of what lies ahead -- and it will be right in our own front yards -- starting with the U.S.    You'll be surprised at the advice given in this Al Qaeda video.

I hate to give this kind of thing much credence, but this video wasn't prepared for us.  No, it was prepared for the individual radical Muslim who truly wants to follow the Qur'an.  We're lucky we get to see it or study it.  We have been warned.  Most North Americans are aware of the dangers.  But most North American politicians are preferring to be "too politically correct" to admit that we need to declare war on our enemies and not be shy about it.  The train is a coming down the track.  It has left the station a long time ago.  But it can still be stopped with gutsy decisions from gutsy men and women who are willing to take the political flack.  Are there any?  There doesn't seem to be.

We basically have two alternatives:  Rely on some radical non-politician who will take the leadership into their own hands if given the opportunity, or rely on our personal relationship with God.  The choice is ours.

This is Preposterous! Gaddafi, Viagra, Soldiers, Rape

I can't believe what comes across my virtual desk these days. We now have a serious investigation by the ICC (International Criminal Court -- not to be confused with the ICC mission I'm involved with) as to whether or not Muammar Gddafi of Libya is giving his soldiers supplies of Viagra so they'll be ready and more prepared (I apologize for the lack of a better description) to rape the women of the rebels they are fighting.

I just wonder what NATO and the U.S. will do when they get the results. Remember, "no boots on the ground" in Libya according to B.O.

Anyway, here's the report for yourself. Tell me this is not true and soon we'll hear there was a big mistake.

Wait. Isn't this Deja-vu? Russia may want an arms race.

Isn't this where I came in several decades ago?  Remember the days of Mr. Nikita K. and his shoe at the United Nations.  Well, we may be heading there again if we're not careful.  --  The "we" here is politely translated to men NATO and the U.S., specifically the latter.

And if you read the article I've linked to carefully, you'll once again see that the problem is that these days America, through its un-fierceless leader (I know, that's a double-negative if anything but I couldn't find a nicer description if I tried), is only involved in "talk, talk, talk."  And others are noticing and they won't wait for his non-forthcoming action.

I'm not so sure that it was going to be Mr. N. Khrushchev that was going to bury us with his shoe (or other means at his disposable at that time) as much as it may be B.O. with his lack of vision and passion for the country he formally leads, a country to which up to now, the free world has looked up to but no longer does.

But then again, those are my thoughts.  Perhaps you'll come to a different conclusion as you read the article in the attached link.

When It Comes to Nuclear Arms, Since We Can't Control Iran, Let's Try Syria

Earlier today epistoli blogged on the West's failure to take any meaningful action against Iran's nuclear weapon programs and how time has basically run out. Well, I just found this article that shows we're now trying to get the UN to sanction Syria on the very same thing. I guess if at first you don't succeed, just switch to another opponent and try your luck there.

This is unbelievable. But we're sticking to our strategic plan of "talk, talk, talk."  And by the way, did you notice that the country pursuing nuclear arms are all peace-loving, non-aggressive, democratic, and tolerant of all people type of nations?  Oh, you didn't notice that.  Gee, and we thought it was so obvious.  Maybe not.

Big Talk, No Action, Time Running Out

Yesterday epistoli blogged on all the "talk, talk, talk" that B.O. and his friend Angela Merkel were doing on a myriad of international issues. Talk that nobody was really listening to, and those that heard it laughed out loud.

Today we bring you a story that shows you how futile talk sometimes is, especially in certain situations, Iran being one of them. Two special and credible reports now indicate that Iran may be just two months away from having the bomb. There's no stopping them.

The problem is that the article we've linked to simply suggests that the U.S. now just change their "talk, talk, talk" focus to persuade them not to use it. Really? How profound.

But don't miss the point, "talk" will get you nowhere with these foes. And oh, in case you missed it, when these enemies are concerned about others -- they don't talk, they act. And that's why they and their "convenient ideology of Islam" is slowly taking over the world.

America, Germany, and the rest of the free world, IT'S TIME TO STOP TALKING and START ACTING!

Does Anybody Really Care What B.O., Merkel "SAY" on these issues?

So, B.O. and his 'friend' Angela hold a press conference. And this is what they say. . .
  1. "Unilateral measures are not helping at all."   Talk, talk, talk.
  2. "unilateral actions such as the Palestinians seeking a vote on statehood at the UN General Assembly should be avoided."  Talk, talk, talk.
  3. Two leaders also agreed upon the "importance of curbing Iran's nuclear program" and warned that "further sanctions against the Islamic Republic could follow" if Tehran continued to rebuff IAEA inspectors.  Talk, talk, talk.
  4. B.O. said that he and Merkel also agreed that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi "must step down and hand power to the Libyan people or the pressure on him will only increase."  Talk, talk, talk.  (Yeah, maybe by Christmas some predict.  Arms sales are going well.)
  5. Merkel echoed the US president's 'sentiments' on the Israeli-Palestinian diplomatic process.  Really more talk, talk, talk.
  6. "I think this was a very important initiative to point out once again that the United States, like Germany and the European Union, wish to promote a further development of the peace process. We're saying this to both countries - we want a two-state solution," Merkel stated. "We want a Jewish state of Israel along side an independent Palestinian state, unilateral measures are not helping at all."  Wow, talk, talk, talk.
  7. They agreed to work together to promote Middle East peace because "time is of the essence."  You get it, talk, talk, talk.
  8. She added: "Given the changes in the Arab region, it would be a very good signal indeed if it came out that talks again were possible."  Now they're openly calling for more "talk, talk, talk" themselves.
Is anybody really listening anymore?   I'm sure both the P.A. leaders and Israeli P.M. Netanyahu had better things to deal with today than this talk, talk, talk, from one leader that cannot get his own country straightened out and another who is on the verge of seeing the EU be hit hard by what is going on in several of its member states.  As my six year old grandson would say, "P u l l e e e a a a s s s e e e e."

Check the above out for yourself from the Jerusalem Post.

p.s. And by the way -- are you seeing the P.A. rushing to have their request removed from the agenda?  I'm not.  But hey, I've been wrong before.  Let's wait and see.

What Happens When Management Doesn't Want To Manage

Why on earth Canada Post has not "locked out" all union members is beyond me.  Instead, they're letting the Union call the shots.  More power to CUPW.  If there's a "gap" in leadership, you can always count on the union to fill it.   Canada Post, where are you?

Instead, it's the Union that has been disrupting the country with its rotating strikes that is considering escalating to a national one -- while Canada Post sits back and twiddles its thumbs trying to figure out what the Union will do next.  Small business is hurt by this; Canada Post costs continue to accumulate during rotating strikes; and the people of the nation don't know whether it's really safe to put a letter in the mailbox or not -- what if there's a nationwide strike tomorrow?

Canadians should be looking now to finding the cheapest alternative method of communications they can and stop depending on Canada Post.  Then we'll see how happy the Union really is.  And by the way, paying everything on-line that you can and receiving direct payments into your account isn't that bad an idea after all, is it?
